The Dentist-Owned, In-House USA Implant Lab

Full arch, partial arch, and single-unit implant restorations — designed and fabricated by one in-house team in Rapid City, SD. Nothing outsourced. Nobody overseas. Real conversations with the people making your case.

  • Digital scans & traditional impressions accepted
  • Owned by Dr. Chad Carpenter, DDS
  • 5–7 business day turnaround

Sound familiar?

If any of this sounds familiar, you're paying for it in chair time.

Another remake.

Over half of dentists lose an hour or more every week to remakes.

Case number, not a person.

You call your lab and get a ticket queue, not the technician.

Where was this actually made?

Many "domestic" labs quietly ship cases overseas without telling you.

Seat date missed.

A rescheduled delivery is a patient conversation you shouldn't have to have.

Why dentists move their cases

Built like a manufacturer, staffed like a colleague

Zirconia restorations being milled in-house at Teeth by Design

Everything finished in-house

Design, milling, layering, and finishing happen under one roof in Rapid City. Nothing leaves the building, so nothing comes back unexplained.

What we make

Implant restorations, start to finish

We are an implant lab. Full arch, partial arch, and single-unit — that's the work, and that's where the team's time goes.

Primary focus

Full Arch Restorations

All-on-4 / All-on-X fixed implant prosthetics. Monolithic zirconia and hybrid options, provisionals through final. Passive fit is the whole job, and it's the case type this lab was built around.

Dr. Chad Carpenter, DDS — owner, Teeth by Design

Dr. Carpenter has practiced in Rapid City since founding Carpenter Dental in 2005, after graduating from the University of Nebraska. His practice is built around implant and full-mouth reconstructive dentistry, and he spends at least 20 days a year in continuing education to stay current on complex cases.

He's a past president of the Black Hills District Dental Society and was named South Dakota's Young Dentist of the Year in 2014. He built an in-house digital lab for his own patients first — Exocad design, milling, 3D printing, photogrammetry — and opened it to other doctors because he knows what it costs when a case comes back wrong.
